Membership Renewal

Legislative Change
Workplace Savings NZ has been active in the legislative and regulartory changes arena. Our recent submissions include:
We are also in the process of drafting our submissions on:
a) Financial Services Providers (Pre-Implementation Adjustments) Bill - required by the Commerce Select Committee by 25 March 2010.
b) Financial Service Providers (Registration and Disputes Resolution) Act 2008 - "Proposed Reserve Scheme Levies" which is required by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs by 23 March 2010.
c) Securities Trustees and Statutory Supervisors Bill - to receive its first reading and be referred to Select Committee stage very soon.
We are also reviewing the Government's response to the report from the Capital Markets Taskforce. Government has indicated that many of the issues have been added to the upcoming Securities Act Review, and we will keep members informed as this progresses.

The theme we are exploring during this Conference is Workplace Savings 20/20 - where do we want our industry be in 10 years time and how will we make that happen?
As has been the case at past Conferences, we will also have break-out sessions covering topics of relevance to all sectors of the workplace savings industry.
A programme and speaker line-up is pending, please watch this space.
A big thank you to those who sent in suggestions for speakers and presentation topics - these are great ideas and we are working on incorporating these into the Conference programme.
2010 AGM & Council Elections
The 2010 Annual General Meeting of Workplace Savings NZ Incorporated will be held Wednesday 28 April 2010.
This will be an after-5 function at the Wellington Club (88 The Terrace, Wellington) and we hope you can join us for drinks & nibbles.
The Workplace Savings NZ Council requires changes to its make-up in 2010. Nominations for Council members will be called for next month.
